Welcome to Troop 358's web page!

Troop 358 of San Marino is celebrating its 70th year as a Troop. The Troop has over 30 active scouts and has produced over 300 eagle scouts since the Troop was established back in 1955.

The Troop meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday evenings at 7PM at the Scout House at Lacy Park. The Troop focuses on developing scouting basics, responsibility and leadership. Each year the Troop offers several merit badges, many of which are Eagle required.

The Troop goes on one camp out or event a month, and performs a Community Service projects throughout the year. New scouts are welcome to join, they can just show up at the Troop meetings to see how they are conducted and learn more about the Troop.

Parent committee meetings are held monthly during the 2nd troop meeting of the month (3rd Thursday each month). Next meeting will be on 11/19/2026.

Troop 358 – Annual Medical Forms & Troop Dues

Troop families, it’s time to update our annual paperwork and troop dues.
Check the Collection Status Spreadsheet.

Please take care of the following:

BSA Medical Forms - Please submit new, updated copies of BSA Medical Form Parts A & B for your Scout.

CFI Summer Camp Exception: Scouts who attended our recent summer camp at CFI already have current medical forms on file and only need to submit a new Part A and B1 at this time.
Completed medical forms can be emailed to Doris Tao at doristao@gmail.com or contact Doris to arrange collection during troop meetings.
Please make sure all forms are completely filled out and signed where required.

Annual Troop Dues – $365 per Scout.

Payment can be made by Zelle or check. No PayPal or Venmo.

Thank you for taking care of these items promptly. Keeping our medical forms and dues current helps ensure that every Scout is ready to participate in troop activities throughout the year.

November Canoe Trip

We had so much fun last year, we're going to try to do the canoe trip again!

We are looking to book the canoepacking trip for November 21-24, 2026. This will be a multi-day trip where we will do a backpacking style trip but travel by canoe along the southern part of the Colorado River. That means that we will pack and carry all tents, stoves, food, and supplies in canoes and paddle 30 miles over the course of 3 days.

Who can participate?

This trip is for registered scouts in middle school or older. Parents who wish to attend must be registered as adult leaders with the BSA prior to the start of the trip. All participants must be strong enough to help carry a canoe and their own gear.

How do I sign up?

What is the approximate cost?

The expected cost is approximately $200 per person. This covers the cost to transport and use the canoes and reserve campsites. Since this is a backpacking style trip, you will purchase and pack your own food.

Anything else I should know?

Tentative Itinerary:

Saturday, Nov 21 - Leave home and arrive at launch site for training (approx. 4-5 hour drive)

Sunday, Nov 22 - Launch and travel 10 miles, camp overnight

Monday, Nov 23 - Travel 10 miles, camp overnight

Tuesday, Nov 24 - Travel 10 miles, return home
